Nestled in the vibrant community of South Ozone Park, NY, Trinciti Roti Shop & Restaurant is a must-visit destination for anyone craving authentic Caribbean and Indian vegetarian cuisine that bursts with flavor and tradition. This bustling eatery expertly blends the rich spices and hearty comfort foods of the Caribbean with Indian-inspired roti dishes, making it a beloved spot for both locals and visitors eager for a genuine culinary journey.

From the moment you step up to the counter at 111-03 Lefferts Blvd, the aromas of freshly cooked curry, pepper sauce, and warm roti skin envelope you. The menu is a delightful tapestry of island favorites that excites every palate. Whether you gravitate towards the tender, spice-kissed curried chicken roti meal or savor the robust flavors of goat curry, each bite carries the essence of Caribbean heritage. The famed Shark and Bake sandwich stands out as a crowd-pleaser, praised for its generous portions of flaky, perfectly seasoned fish nestled in a soft, savory “bake” bread – a dish deserving of its near-cult following and rave reviews.

For those seeking handheld delights, the doubles come highly recommended, featuring smooth chickpea fillings layered between fluffy, fried flatbreads and topped with all the tangy, sweet tamarind and fiery pepper sauces you could wish for. Shrimp doubles and beef roti also command attention as crowd favorites. Beyond savory dishes, Trinciti’s bakery section serves up authentic Guyanese pastries that evoke nostalgia with every bite — try the moist Cassava Pone, rich Black Cake, or the iconic Guyana Tennis Roll. These treats provide the perfect sweet counterpoint to the savory spice of the main courses.

The atmosphere at Trinciti is lively and straightforward – with a no-frills, takeaway-focused setting that hums with the energy of a busy, beloved local spot. Visitors appreciate the clean environment and fast service, knowing they’re in for something truly special. The restaurant’s dedication to authenticity and freshness shines through every plate, as confirmed by enthusiastic fans like Erica Aponte, who praised the tender, flavorful curry chicken roti, and Shawn, who couldn’t get enough of the curry goat and oxtail doubles.

For those who have experienced Caribbean cuisine elsewhere, Esaiah McCoy sums it up perfectly: Trinciti Roti Shop delivers local delicacies that transport you straight to the islands. Lara Nini’s glowing endorsement of the Shark and Bake as a “10/10” reflects the restaurant’s high standards and community love. Even when certain menu items are only available seasonally or on weekends, the wide variety ensures every visit is packed with welcome surprises and memorable flavors.

Trinciti Roti Shop & Restaurant isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a flavorful celebration of Caribbean and Indian culinary culture that resonates deeply with its diners. They’re very busy but the doubles and the roti with curry chicken were absolutely delicious. The chicken was so tender and flavorful, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. Definitely a spot I’ll be going back to!

While New York is known for its food, there’s something about Caribbean cuisine that stands out from the rest. And if you’re looking to get a taste of the islands, I’ll highly recommend Trinciti Roti Shop. As a Trini myself, I can tell you first hand that Trinciti Roti Shop is hands down the best restaurant for local delicacies, especially the doubles. Having one bite is like a one way ticket to the island, it’s that delicious. BEST DOUBLES IN NEW YORK

I made this initial review in 2024. I’m here to update after going back again around my birthday. So here goes… I came back to get a few more things August 2025. I’m updating it to 5 stars because the food is food. Initially it was 4 stars. Shark and bake or Bake and shark; however you want to call it is a 10/10!!!!! Excellent fish sandwich. One of the best I ever had. It’s over $20 and you pay for it separately. It’s available Fri/Sat/Sun. I got mine without pepper sauce and tomatoes. They added chadon beni sauce, extra tamarind sauce, pineapple and everything else. Please get this! It’s excellent! Goat curry with buss up shot. 10/5! This is the only way I’ll ever eat Trinidadian roti again. I can’t do the wrap, but that paratha roti is everything!!!! Tasty, flavorful and I had so much I had to split it into two days! Shrimp doubles 5/5. Very good! Get it with mango chutney sour, tamarind sauce and chadon beni sauce. They never have cucumber and I hope they do in the future. Oxtail/goat/chicken doubles. Just get them. I don’t do the pepper sauce, but everything else works in it. 5/5. Cake slice. It was good, not sure I’ll repurchase although I liked it a lot. Only if I was craving something sweet. 4/5 rating. Rice and peas, oxtail with pumpkin… 20/10. The oxtail was succulent and juicy. The pumpkin (which I love) tasted sweet but savory. Rice and peas were equally as good! I really enjoyed this dish. It’s like $20 but they give you a lot of food! _______________________________________ This place is hectic! I wasn’t always big into Trinidadian food but I came here one Saturday in June (forgetting to write a review) and I’ll say this; the lines are long, it’s loud and there’s an obnoxious guy directing you to move up in line. When you are ready to order, there are at least 20 people serving customers. You’ll have your own “personal” server, that gets everything you want for you. Plus they move as fast they can be! Pelau 5/5. Had the chicken pelau and it was good. Very tasty and delicious. It’s similar to a pilaf as well. Get it. Pholourie 10/5. My fav Trinidadian dish. They give you a lot of tamarind sauce without attitude. Doubles 10/5. Got them with and without meat. They’re good. Next time I’ll get them with cucumber. Roti 3/5. I’m not that crazy about roti. It was good but not memorable. I wouldn’t get it again. Currant roll 10/5. Absolutely delicious. I only got one but will get more next time. Flaky buttery crust too, the baker does a good job on this. Solo Sorrel 10/5. I love this flavor. Get it!!!!! Chicken soup 10/5. Got the large here. It was very good! All in all, they made me fall in love with Trini food. I’ll only get it from here from now on. Come, the hype is real!

First time here and I can say the hype is real. The curry goat and the oxtail double was delicious, I got everything in it. I also got the Shark and Bake, which was outstanding. It was sweet and with the spicy sauce, you get hit with a little bit of heat, which was a nice balance. They pack it with a lot of fish. I’d advise getting everything on there. The food is affordable and the quality is there. When it came to the paying part, they are very unorganized but understandable since it gets super busy. But the lady had an attitude, when I heard the order wrong. (For new customers make sure you pay attention to the food you order.) 2 doubles and 1 shark and bake was $23. I will definitely come back. 8.5/10

Saw this establishment on "David's been here" on YouTube, and thought to visit, my husband and I. As soon as we walked in, the place had a long line, still inside the restaurant though and the line went pretty quick. I ordered 8 doubles 2 chicken, 1 goat and the rest plain. My husband ordered doubles and an Oxtail Aloo pie. The doubles were so good, I enjoyed every bite! I don't know how the chicken doubles tasted, as those were not for me, but the goat was great. My husband also ordered a "Melody cake" and omg, bomb! Service can be worked on by the line workes. Other than that the atmosphere was cool, no place to eat inside, eat and go...the AC was blasting, so it felt nice inside waiting in this summer heat. They do have a refrigerator with a variety of drinks, they also have a few popular carribean snacks for sell and some bakery items.

Roti, doubles, pholourie, dahl puri, bake & shark, they have all the goodies. Plus that pepper sauce. Line was long so we tried the kiosk. Order was ready in 15 minutes. Doubles inside and extreme double parking outside.
